I call your attention to the article in this bulletin regarding the recent ruling that access to contraception, sterilization and abortifacients be included in all health insurance plans. This includes the plans that cover plans provided by the Catholic Church. While it seemed that the administration would allow "conscience clauses" for religious organizations, however, that hope disappeared with this recent ruling. I urge you to read the message from Cardinal-designate Dolan as President of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. I urge you to contact the administration and our Congressional representative to voice your concern. It would seem that while people of faith are allowed the "freedom to worship" they are being denied the freedom to practice their faith in accord with their conscience.
This week is "Catholic Schools Week". We are proud that our school has served the children of our parish for over 80 years. Our fine principal Mrs. Gatti and our dedicated faculty do a wonderful job in educating our young people academically and spiritually. Please take the opportunity to visit the school on Wednesday morning.
