Immaculate Heart of Mary Boy Scout Troop 2 Scarsdale has been sponsored by IHM Church continually since 1938 as a Church-related Youth Ministry. Scouts can earn Catholic Religious Emblems to enhance a Scout’s spiritual growth as a Scout is Reverent.
Boy Scouting delivers a quality, youth-run, patrol method, value-based program of character development and leadership training for boys aged 11 to 17. Scouting is set in an exciting, fun, and adventure-based outdoor and skill learning environment where Scouts practice lifelong lessons in life-saving, survival, and leadership skills.
Troop 2 Scouts learn first aid, CPR, fire safety, the proper use of knives and axes, and canoe, white water raft, ski, hike, rock climb, camp, cook, and backpack, all set in an outdoor atmosphere where scouts gain real hands-on experience and practice their leadership skills. The Unit conducts overnight weekend campouts each month from September to May and undertakes other day activities to deliver the Adventure that is Scouting. During the summer, the Troop attends summer camp together for one week at Camp Waubeeka at Read Scout Reservation in the Adirondacks north of Lake George.
