The Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish Council serves as a consultative body of the parish whose responsibility is to advise and assist the pastor in matters relating to the parish. This includes promoting lay participation in the activities of the parish, evaluating the goals and needs of the parish, developing and recommending ways to address those needs, and finally developing and maintaining a two-way communication between the Council and the larger Parish community. Council members will also be expected to take a leadership role in the various Parish Council events as well as in the particular area of Parish life they are interested in or involved in already.
The Parish Council seeks to enhance and strengthen our Parish faith community by coordinating events amongst the Immaculate Heart of Mary School, Religious Education Program, and various Parish organizations and ministries. We seek to foster relationships within our communities; welcoming, supporting, and engaging parishioners and guests through faith and friendship. The Parish Council sponsors the annual Parish Picnic, Wine & Cheese Tasting, Cocoa and Carols, Family Advent Wreath Making, Right to Life demonstration, Lenten Fish Fry, Ministry & Organizations Fair, May Planting, Patronal Feast Day celebration, as well as other adult focused functions. Volunteers are always welcome to assist in the coordination and planning of these events.
Meeting date/time: Parish Council members commit themselves to attending approximately 8 meetings a year typically held on the second Monday of the month at 7:15 in the Dunne Room of the rectory.
This committee worked to implement the campaign for the restoration of the outside church and rectory (phase one) and is currently working to address the interior church renovations (phase two). Meeting date/time: Periodically. Interested candidates may be asked to submit their name and background for consideration.
